J.N.T. The Life and Scandalous Times of John Nathan-Turner – a biography by former DWM writer and producer/director of the fantastic Tales from Television Centre documentary, Richard Marson, seeks to tell the ‘true story’ behind the man who for over a decade was responsible for every creative and artistic decision affecting Doctor Who.

As revealed in the Doctor Who Online podcast interview with Ian Levine, Richard Marson is currently penning the book with the aim of shedding some light on the ignominious period where the show was cancelled.
However, anyone who listened to Levine’s comments regarding J.N.T in either parts of the podcast need not worry as Richard has promised a balanced account of the man himself – from his early years through to his time at the helm of Doctor Who – something that his own memoirs only touched upon in reflection.
Drawing on over 80 interviews with key friends and colleagues, from stars to secretaries, his childhood best friend to his personnel officer, those he loved and those from whom he became estranged – the book will also feature previously unreleased archive of John’s paperwork and photos, as well as BBC archival material and video and audio archive from a range of private sources.
J.N.T. The Life and Scandalous Times of John Nathan-Turner will be released in April 2013 and published in two versions: a standard paperback (£13.99) and a limited edition hardback (£26.99), the latter of which will only be available direct from Fantom Publishing.
Limited to only 250 copies – each copy is individually numbered and signed by the author – with exclusive colour photos, and an exclusive cover designed by June Hudson.
